Albuquerque, New Mexico

On that year I took myself to New Mexico to get on a hot air ballon, I wanted to spend this one doing a bucket list item I’ve had. Since my birthday is in March it was cold and on this particular morning very windy. It was almost canceled but the wind calmed down and granted us a clear morning to sail in the sky for a bit.

Sedona, Arizona

Another spot on my list was Sedona, Arizona. Many years ago, my high school girlfriends’ mother invited me to Sedona and mentioned how mystical and amazing it is with several energy vortexes and the red rocks. At the time I wasn’t too fond of traveling, I was very much a home body and the idea of flying out to Arizona and driving three or four hours seemed like a whole production I didn’t want to do. I’m glad I finally made it out there, the desert is and in particular red rock deserts have become one of my favorite places to be for its very other worldly feeling. It strangely makes me feel particularly present, at peace and grounded.

Grand Canyon, South Entrance

The Grand Canyon, though I didn’t make it down to the bottom perhaps one day I’ll make it on a hike and see the Havasu Falls. I did see a good bit of the south side and went down a little to get to get to a cliff. It was a little reckless I must admit as the path down was icy and only about 1.5 maybe 2 feet wide of the edge but I was determined to get to there. I also noticed how dangerous it is to be by the rim of the canyon as strong winds can and have pushed people over.

In this video you can see some of the video recording from the hot air ballon. The sound was recorded at a museum. They were setting up for an art walk I believe and I found myself following the sound until I reached the empty room he was in. I sat a few feet away from him and set the camera to record as I enjoyed the mantra it was pretty magickal.
